Why Exact Birth Time Matters in Kundli
The Minute That Changes Destiny
One of the most common questions we get is, "I don't know my exact time, is 9:00 AM okay?" In Western astrology (Sun signs), the time matters less. But in Vedic astrology, it is everything.
The Ascendant (Lagna) Changes Fast
The Ascendant, or Rising Sign, changes approximately every two hours. However, the internal subdivisions of the chart (Divisional Charts or Vargas), which are crucial for detailed predictions about career (D10), marriage (D9), and children (D7), change much faster—sometimes every few minutes!
If your birth time is off by just 4 minutes, your D9 (Navamsa) chart could be completely different. This means a prediction about your marriage could be based on the wrong planetary alignment.
Rectification is Possible
If you don't know your exact time, astrologers use a process called "Birth Time Rectification" (BTR). This involves looking at major life events (marriage, first job, health issues) and adjusting the birth time backwards or forwards until the chart matches the reality. Our AI system uses simplified algorithms to help with this, but for major discrepancies, a manual consultation is recommended.
